A V3 card ships as a .charx file — a ZIP archive containing card.json plus optional assets. The tool parses the ZIP directory, locates the card JSON, decompresses it (store or deflate), and reads the chara_card_v3 object entirely in your browser.

2. Mapping to the Agnai schema

Agnai imports a JSON persona with name, description, personality, scenario, first_mes and mes_example. The converter normalizes Character Card V3's field names onto a common persona model first, so the mapping is consistent regardless of how the source card was authored.

3. What transfers to Agnai

The core persona always carries across: name, description, personality, scenario, greeting (first_mes), and example dialogue are mapped directly onto the Agnai fields, along with tags and creator credit where supported. The converted character is handed back as a Agnai JSON file, ready to import directly into Agnai. V3-only extras such as extra bundled assets or group-only greetings are omitted when Agnai has no equivalent slot, but nothing in the core character is lost.

4. Private, client-side conversion

No servers, no accounts, no sign-up. The Character Card V3 archive is decompressed and read in your browser's memory using JavaScript, the persona is transformed locally, and the Agnai result is returned as a download. Because character cards often contain hours of personal writing, this zero-upload model keeps your work on your own device — you can confirm it in your browser's network tab.
